Florida's Charter Support Unit
A free service dedicating to supporting Florida's Charter Schools.

We're Here To Help!
The Charter Support Unit is dedicated to trying to help charter schools operate successfully in the state of Florida. We want to help schools start their early years successfully in order to improve student achievement. We're excited to announce two informative webinars for next week, as well as to invite school leaders to consider joining a new "Meet Up" service we are considering, read below to learn more.  These services, like all services provided by the CSU are provided at no cost. As always, please checkout our website at flcsu.org to see if there are other things the CSU can do to support your school!

A charter school’s mission and vision are essential decision-making tools to keep the school on track. They also play an important role in shaping a successful message for the school. This webinar will help school leaders to clearly align their school culture, planning, and decision-making with their school’s mission and vision statements in an interactive discussion. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their school’s mission and of how to communicate it to stakeholders. This clear understanding will help leaders make decisions aligned with the mission and recruit additional students for the future. The webinar will be presented by Dr. Michele Gill who is the founder of the Galileo Charter School in Sanford, and is also a Professor at UCF where she has established a new center aimed at supporting innovative schools (https://www.ucfccsis.org).

Charter Leader Meet-Ups
The Charter Support Unit is considering starting a new service as a way to help charter school leaders collaborate more effectively. We know that the job of running a charter school is often a lonely job, so we want to help leaders get together to discuss the similar issues they may be facing. Our goal is that these meetings would be hosted at a participating school, and that a sponsor will provide a light meal or coffee. Each meeting would have an informal general topic of conversation but be open to dialog based on what the participants may be going through. If you would be interested, please complete a short survey at flcsu.org/meetsurvey. Image Description
