Education Records: FERPA, Videos, Public Record Requests, and Retention Requirements

In this webinar we will explore the legal definition of “education records” and discuss them generally with respect to the laws that govern requests from parents, other government entities, the public, and sponsors. We will cover the law regarding the production of a video record and preservation of same under FERPA. We will discuss generally the protections of education records in relation to student privacy. Finally, we will discuss the requirements regarding education records and their retention by charter schools for current and former students.
