Do you know how to prepare your school, respond, and recover from a tropical weather event? Hurricane season is from June 1st through November 30th. As Floridians we have become accustomed and complacent to tropical cyclones. The methodology for preparing schools is significantly different than your home or even a private business. The community depends on schools to reopen as quickly as possible and sees it as sign of normalcy. Administrators will learn how to properly prepare their school, develop communication protocols before, during and post- storm. Principals will also learn how to conduct an initial damage assessment in order to open schools following an tropical weather event.
