Board members, school leaders, and leadership teams, need to be prepared to communicate at a moment's notice when an emergency or crisis occurs: communication to parents and stakeholders is paramount. School leaders are faced with delivering messages about the incident and other details that are important to stakeholders. Parents especially want information that will calm their fears. Therefore, these messages need to be consistent, accurate and timely. There is a balance between too much information and not enough information. Participants will learn the framework for messaging and obtain some samples of messages based on specific types of incidents.
