Students' learning has been interrupted and the complexities associated with re-engagement and learning gains will not be captured by standardized state assessments alone. This session is designed for public charter school leaders and authorizers interested in revisiting school goals and academic accountability frameworks used for determining school quality. We will consider how goals are currently constructed, which students are expected to achieve, and consider a new approach that responds to the student population and school's mission.

Have you opened a new school or are you planning to soon?

The New School Institute is a series of Florida-specific trainings provided at no cost to school leaders working to open a charter school. Governing Board members and newly hired administrators will significantly benefit from these trainings.

This year we will be developing an online training course that will host mini-trainings on various aspects of opening a charter school. The Charter Support Unit will record and post materials in an online Learning Management System (LMS). We will also host regular virtual meetings to discuss the timely content throughout the year.
